This was our first Christmas not being with any family. Matt and I both thought that it wasn't going to be very good but we were surprised to find that we had a lot of fun and it wasn't half bad. For Christmas Eve we went out to the Olive Garden and had a big meal. Reagan was so good and happy the whole time. We had people coming up to us and telling us how good our daughter was. That made us feel like we were actually doing a good job at raising her, it's nice to have that confirmation every once in a while. Next we came home to open 1 present. Reagan got her new PJ's and Matt got I am Legend, and I got the Rook game. We then all dressed in our PJ's and headed out to look at the Christmas lights. I was shocked that not a lot of people had lights up anymore but we did end up finding some and Reagan loved it. She would be looking out her window and when she saw the lights she would say LOOK! and then she would say oh cute. It really made Matt and I want to find more lights and made us feel so good just seeing the simple joy looking at the lights brought her. We then came home and watched a Christmas movie, One of the short ones because it was already way past Reagan's bed time. Then Matt and I stayed up and watched his movie and then we went to bed.
Christmas morning was GREAT. Reagan had been itching all month to open the presents under the tree and when we finally said ok you can open them she got so excited. She got so many toys and stuffed animals she didn't know what to do with them all. I loved seeing the look on her face when she opened her gifts, you would have thought that she opened up a million dollars every present. After all the present opening we had a great breakfast thanks to Matt and Knots last bottle ever of boysenberry syrup. Matt and I had a great time just being with our own family and making new traditions for our own family. Being out here by ourselves with no family has really brought us closer together as a couple and as a family. We cant wait for next year when we will have little Reagan and Ryker with us.
She loved all the stuffed animals.
