Ryker James Stout

Ryker was forced to make his grand entrance today. I was originally supposed to be induced on May 17th but every woman around here decided to go into labor that day so we were told to wait and call at 3am the next morning to see if there were any beds available. Matt and I did not get to sleep until about 11pm and then woke up at 3 and were told to come on in at 5am. We were to excited to go back to sleep so we decided to just get ready for the day and make sure we had everything that we needed for the hospital. At 5 we strolled in and started getting ready to be induced when I turned white and getting really clammy. I was very close to passing out for some unknown reason and they had to use a few of the ammonia salts to wake me up. After about 20 min of that everything went smoothly. They started the PIT at around 7 am and upped it every half hour till about 11am. They checked me and I was dilated to a 4 and 80% so the Dr decided to break my water. Seems like immediately after that i felt my first real contractions. I will never understand how or why women give birth naturally it hurts so bad. I quickly got my epidural and was able to finish watching the season finally of Castle with Matt. at about 1:20pm the nurse checked me and told me that I was ready to push. The Dr came and after pushing for 20 min Ryker was born at 9lbs 8oz and sunny side up just like his sister. He was healthy and crying. he was 21 1/2in long and he felt like a brick. I am so nervous and excited to have him as my son. Reagan doesn't really seem to interested in him yet but she did kiss him and say hello and it was such an amazing moment for me as a mother to see my children meet for the first time.

The end is in sight

I have 4 days left until Ryker is forced to make his arrival. I am really hoping that I can make it that long. I have developed a new horrible symptom where it feels like a charlie horse cramp in my groin. It hurts so bad that I have literally laid on my kitchen floor waiting for the cramp to pass. Nothing I do will help this pain and just standing in one spot brings these cramps on. I am dying. I have had a very hard pregnancy this go around and I have to remember that soon he will be here and all of this pain will be forgotten when I look into his sweet little face. My mom is coming up on Monday evening after work and I can not wait to see her. It has been a year since I last saw my family and I am in much need of a visit. So we call the hospital at 8am to make sure that we still are able to be induced and if we are then we go in at 10 am. I am so excited and so nervous at the same time. The next blog will have pictures of Ryker and Reagan. I can't wait.

Happy Birthday Reagan

March 3rd is Reagan's 2nd birthday and one of her presents arrived early. She got a puppy named Zoe.

She is 1.4 lbs and 9 weeks old. Reagan loves her so much. They play together all the time. Zoe is a really good dog and LOVES to cuddle. The other day I saw Reagan holding Zoe and reading her a book. In the mornings she will hold Zoe and sit in her dolls stroller and watch Curious George. They are quickly becoming best friends and Matt and I fell better and better everyday about our decision to get the dog.
On another note Reagan's new favorite song is the Itsy Bitsy Spider. She asks me to sing it with her all the time. Here is a video of her doing the hand motions.

WE ARE MOVING AGAIN!!1

We have been waiting for 6 long weeks to find out if Matt has been accepted to BYU-I and today we found out. He indeed did get accepted. He has wanted this so bad and has worked hard in preparing for it that I am very proud of him. We are not sure what track he will be on because you have to fill out a track questioner and wait another 4 to 6 weeks to hear back for sure. We are so happy to be able to go back to school and finish and start our lives as collage grads. Matt is so excited as are the rest of us that we will be living in the snow again and by family. Congratulations Matt We love you and are so proud of you.

New Year Goal.

This year I guess everyone is setting goals. One of Reagan's new years goals is to work out with daddy and lose that baby weight.

Our main family goal is to learn how to make good dinners every night. Matt has set some goals but I have never really done the whole goal setting thing at new year.

This year has been a crazy one for us with some big changes.

  • we were both in school
  • Reagan turned 1
  • We moved to California away from all family
  • We found out we are having another baby (a boy)
I guess a we only had a few BIG changes this year but it felt crazy. I hope everyone had a good 2010 and I know that we are all looking forward to 2011.

Christmas!!!

This was our first Christmas not being with any family. Matt and I both thought that it wasn't going to be very good but we were surprised to find that we had a lot of fun and it wasn't half bad. For Christmas Eve we went out to the Olive Garden and had a big meal. Reagan was so good and happy the whole time. We had people coming up to us and telling us how good our daughter was. That made us feel like we were actually doing a good job at raising her, it's nice to have that confirmation every once in a while. Next we came home to open 1 present. Reagan got her new PJ's and Matt got I am Legend, and I got the Rook game. We then all dressed in our PJ's and headed out to look at the Christmas lights. I was shocked that not a lot of people had lights up anymore but we did end up finding some and Reagan loved it. She would be looking out her window and when she saw the lights she would say LOOK! and then she would say oh cute. It really made Matt and I want to find more lights and made us feel so good just seeing the simple joy looking at the lights brought her. We then came home and watched a Christmas movie, One of the short ones because it was already way past Reagan's bed time. Then Matt and I stayed up and watched his movie and then we went to bed.

Christmas morning was GREAT. Reagan had been itching all month to open the presents under the tree and when we finally said ok you can open them she got so excited. She got so many toys and stuffed animals she didn't know what to do with them all. I loved seeing the look on her face when she opened her gifts, you would have thought that she opened up a million dollars every present. After all the present opening we had a great breakfast thanks to Matt and Knots last bottle ever of boysenberry syrup. Matt and I had a great time just being with our own family and making new traditions for our own family. Being out here by ourselves with no family has really brought us closer together as a couple and as a family. We cant wait for next year when we will have little Reagan and Ryker with us.

She loved all the stuffed animals.

IT'S A BOY !!!!!!!

Today we went to get our ultrasound to see f Reagan was going to have a brother or sister. While in the room she started looking at the normal measurements and everything looks good. Then she asked if we wanted to find out the sex of course we said yes, that's the reason we were there oh and to make sure he is healthy too. So she starts looking and the baby is moving all over and she says that she thinks its a boy but is not sure because the cord is between the legs. She then says she is going to leave for a few min and we should try to get the baby to move and when she gets back she will try again. After she leaves Matt starts getting mad and was like i'm not here to to have a guess I could do that I want to know if i'm having a son she can't tease me like that. He then yelled at my stomach telling the baby to move. When she came back into the room she tried again and was able to tell without a doubt it was a BOY!!! We are all so excited and can't wait for him to be here.
